keyproteins is a sequence-based database that covers all the sequences of mammalian transmembrane proteins included in UniProt (SwissProt+TrEMBL). The sequence criterion to be included in keyproteins is the presence of a transmenbrane domain annotated in UniProt.
What is it for?
- To allow users to carry out sequence studies focused on discovering common and differential sequence features.
- To facilitate the management of these sequences of proteins allowing to define sequence subsets corresponding to the three different fragments of a transmembrane protein: extracellular, transmembrane and intracellular fragments.
- To allow to create sequence subsets filtered by taxonomy terms, InterPro motifs and Go terms.
